Established in 1954 in Monmouth County, N.J., to prepare a master plan and encourage its support, assist the Board of Chosen Freeholders and other county departments in carrying out their assigned functions, provide research and analysis for the proper management of the county's resources, review, and serve as a depository for all municipal plans and ordinances, prepare reports, serve as a research agency for the Chosen Freeholders and other agencies, provide staff assistance, and administer the community development program.
