Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. Dept. of Colleges and Theological Seminaries.

The National Japanese Student Relocation Council was established by the American Friends Service Committee at the recommendation of the War Relocation Authority in 1942. Its objective was providing college educations to the Japanese-American students interned in government relocation centers. Though coordinated by the American Friends Service Committee, the activities of the NJSRC transcended denominational boundaries. The PCUSA's Board of Christian Education, operating through the Department of Colleges and Theological Seminaries, participated in this non-denominational effort, by placing Japanese-American students in midwestern and east coast colleges and universities and providing grants and scholarships to these students.
