Levine, M. N. (Moses Naphtali), 1886-1962

Moses Levine was born in Latvia in 1886, but took his college education at the University of Minnesota, finishing with a Ph. D. in Plant Pathology. He worked with the USDA Agricultural Research Service and was associated with the University of Minnesota Dept. of Plant Pathology. Although he was not Jewish, he was interested in the agricultural research being done by Jewish settlers and worked on cereal rust problems in Palestine, and assisted various humanitarian efforts for Palestine, and with the Jewish refugee rescue efforts during World War II.
