Ninety-Second Infantry Divison World War II Association
Organizational History
The 92nd Infantry Division, an African-American unit of the segregated United States Army during World War I and World War II, was first organized in October 1917 and saw combat in France during 1918. The division was deactivated in 1919, but was reactivated in October 1942 for World War II. The 92nd saw combat during 1944-1945 in Tuscany, Northern Italy, and was deactivated again in November 1945.
