Tannehill, Victor, 1933-
Victor Tannehill began collecting relevant documentary films forty years ago as an aid to his historical research. The author of numerous books on U. S. military aviation during World War II, Mr. Tannehill has also written articles that have appeared in many aviation magazines. His most recently completed books were on the history of the 17th and the 319th Bombardment Groups in World War II. He was one of the technical advisors on two Hollywood movies: "The Tuskegee Airmen" and "Memphis Belle." Mr. Tannehill is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana. After graduating from high school there, he attended Wittenberg College in Springfield, Ohio where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1955. He served in the Army for two years and was stationed in Germany.
