The Department of Forestry was authorized by the Board of Trustees in the College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences; Koloman Lehotsky, Head, 1956-1969; William H. Davis McGregor, Head, 1969-1970; Robert M. Allen, 1970-1982; Michael Taras, Head, 1982-1991. The Department of Recreation and Park Administration was established in the College of Education; Herbert Brantley, Head, 1966-1987; R.W. (Bob) McLellan, Acting Head, 1987-1989; Lawrence (Larry) R. Allen, Head, 1989-1995. The College of Forest and Recreation Resources was established (1970-1995). The Department of Forestry and the Department of Recreation and Park Administration joined together as the College of Forest and Recreation Resources; William H. Davis McGregor, Dean 1970-1978; followed by Benton H. Box; Dean, 1978-1994. In 1984 the Department of Recreation and Park Administration changed its name to the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management. The Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management became part of the College of Health, Education, and Human Development. The Department of Forest Resources became part of the School of Natural Resources within the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences.
