Spence, Mary E. (Mary Elizabeth), 1865-1962
Adam K. Spence (1831-1900) was the first academic dean of Fisk University in Nashville, Tenn., and his daughter Mary Elizabeth Spence, a graduate of Fisk who taught classical literature there until her death in 1927. She was the principal collector of the materials.
