Kirkcaldy Burgh School.

Adam Smith, the Scottish political economist, attended this school between 1733 and 1737. David Millar was headmaster of the school from 1720 until 1750. He was related by marriage to Adam Smith's mother. The Burgh School was regarded as one of the best secondary schools in Scotland at that time, and Millar had the reputation of being one of the best schoolmasters of his day.
