Union Metallic Cartridge Company
The Union Metallic Cartridge Company was incorporated in Connecticut in 1867 and constructed a plant at Bridgeport. In 1916 it merged with the Remington Arms and Ammunition Company of Ilion, N.Y., to form the Remington Arms-Union Metallic Cartridge Company. The firm was reincorporated in Delaware as the Remington Arms Company on May 24, 1920, and was eventually merged into E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. in 1980.
