Great Britain. High Commission for Western Pacific Islands
When the Western Pacific High Commission was transferred from Suva to Honiara in 1952, the minute papers and general correspondence files covered by this list were transferred from the WPHC to the Pitcairn and Tonga Office which had been established to take over the administration of British relations with Pitcairn and Tonga from the WPHC. These records were subsequently transferred to archival custody in the former Central Archives of Fiji and the Western Pacific High Commission. When this Archives was established in October 1970 they were transferred to the Western Pacific Archives, an agency of the Western Pacific High Commission.
