Logan, John Dickinson, 1817-1881

Consists of regular entries recording financial dealings of the Logan family in the Philadelphia, PA area at the close of the Civil War. While not minutely detailed (e.g., numerous entries are for "marketing," but individual food items are not often mentioned), the accounts are broad-ranging and carefully entered. The expenses include wages, taxes, photographs, travel costs, books, insurance, and the ever-popular "sundries." Logan was also charged with administering a number of decedents' estates.
