Missionary, administrator of Protestant Evangelical institutions; born David Morris Howard on January 28, 1928; received a BA (1949) and MA (1952) from Wheaton College, Illinois; staff of Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of the United States, 1949-1952, 1968-1977, and 1980-1981 (from 1968-1977 had major responsibility for IVCF's mission program, including the triennial Urbana Student Missionary Conventions); missionary and executive of the Latin America Mission, 1953-1968; director for the 1980 Consultation on World Evangelization held by the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization, 1977-1980; staff of Evangelism Explosion, 1981-1982; international director of World Evangelical Fellowship, 1982-1992; executive with Cook Communication Ministries International (David C. Cook, Inc.), 1992-1995; president of Latin America Mission, 1995- ; retired, 1999; Howard also served on the board of numerous Evangelical institutions, including Wheaton College and Latin America Mission.
