Under the U.S. Federal Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) and the Virginia Hazardous Waste Facilities Siting Act, CODE OF VIRGINIA, Chapter 17.1, those operators or owners wishing to construct on a site where hazardous wastes are involved are required to obtain a permit. This series documents the administrative activities of the State Water Control Board in the Technical Assistance review for the permit. The agency reviews applications which may involve the water of the Commonwealth and then forwards its review and comments to the office of record, the State Department of Health, Division of Solid and Hazardous Wastes, now the Dept. of Waste Management. A copy of the review is also filed in the Permits Section, SWCB.
