Dock Street Theatre (Charleston, S.C.)
The Dock Street Theatre in downtown Charleston, S.C., was a product of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and takes the name of an historical playhouse that flourished in 18th-century Charleston; workers constructed a theatre space behind an earlier building, the Planter's Hotel (the oldest portion of which was consturcted in 1809)
