Reynolds, Isaac V., d. 1865.

Soldier from Lebanon, Russell County, Virginia who served with the 16th Virginia Cavalry during the Civil War. After burning Chambersburg, Penn. his regiment stopped to rest near Moorefield, Maryland. Reynolds had left his horse saddled, fearing reprisal from the Union soldiers. When this occurred, his commanding officer Captain Fickle took Reynolds' horse forcing him to flee on foot, running through freezing streams and becoming exhausted. He contracted pneumonia and never recovered, dying at home.
