Lubbock Community Planning Council
Social services council. Created in 1954 to assist local service agencies coordinate their work. The council combined with the Community Chest in 1957. Both worked to encourage cooperation and planning between agencies and to raise funds for them. The Community Chest and the Council were forerunners of the United Way.
