University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. School of Education.
The university began offering courses in education in 1877 and established the Department of Education in 1907. In 1913 the Department became the School of Education. In 1932 the Department was again created; and remained a department until 1948, when it once more became the School of Education. Today the School of Education offers both baccalaureate and graduate degree programs; it is administered by a dean, who reports to the Provost of the university.
