Hollond |Marjorie | 1895-1977

Marjorie Tappan was born in New York in 1895. Educated at Bryn Mawr College and Columbia University, she came to Britain at the end of the First World War and lectured part-time at the London School of Economics until 1926. She married Henry Arthur Hollond in 1929. Lecturer in Economics at Cambridge University from 1926, Director of Studies and Lecturer at Girton College, from 1923, Fellow from 1924, Vice-Mistress 1940-1941, Bursar from 1946. Published articles and reviews. During the Second World War, she was an Assistant Secretary in the Board of Trade and Advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture. Marjorie Tappan Hollond died in 1977.
