Dartmouth College. Forester.
Monahan was in charge of forest management and recreational use of Dartmouth's College Grant, Gile Memorial Forest, Clement Estate, and other timber holdings. He was also in charge of the college-owned Oak Hill Ski Lift, Golf Course Rope Tow, and Occom Skating Pond. A 1929 graduate of Dartmouth College, Monahan attended the Yale School of Forestry, from which he received the Master of Forestry degree in 1931. He worked for the United States Forest Service for fifteen years before he became the Dartmouth College Forester in 1947.
