Beech Island Agricultural and Police Society
The Beech Island Agricultural Society was founded by planters from the Beech Island area (Beech Island borders the South Carolina side of the Savannah River and is more than 150 miles inland). The purpose of the Society, which was known under various names during the course of its existence, was to address issues of interest to local farmers.
