Warner, Emily Howell
Born Emily Hanrahan in Denver, Colo. in 1939. Took first flying lessons as a teenager with Jim Muncey in 1958. First woman hired by a major U.S. airlines as a pilot (1973), eventually earned captain's wings (1976), commanded first all-female flight crew (1986). Inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame (2001).
