James, Jack Alexander, 1919-

Jack Alexander James (1919- ), a geologist, received his Ph. D. from the Missouri School of Mines in 1951. He was employed by the Missouri Geological Survey (1946-1952). He entered private mining employment as a geologist with American Metal Company (1952-1955), and later managed the exploration division of its successor, American Metal Climax, Inc. (AMAX, Inc.) from 1955-1960. James was a consulting geologist (1960-1964), vice president of Callahan Mining Company (1964-1968), and president of Kurtz Materials Corp. beginning in 1968.
