Gragg, Rosa Lee Slade, 1904-1989
Founder of the Slade-Gragg Academy of Practical Arts, the first black vocational school in Detroit. As a black activist who promoted the interests of women she served as advisor to three U.S. presidents, Roosevelt, Kennedy and Johnson, was president of the National Association of Colored Women's Clubs and vice president of the International Council of Women of the World.
