Bilandic, Michael A. (Michael Anthony), 1923-2002
An accomplished lawyer, Michael Bilandic (1923-2002) is best remembered as a civil servant who served in each of the three branches of government. Bilandic was an alderman for seven years, served as mayor of Chicago for two and a half years, and sat as a justice on both the Apellate and Illinois Supreme Courts. While receiving mixed reviews of his work as an alderman and as mayor, he won his highest praise for his work as a jurist.
