Lynde, Edward D. (Edward Dudley Bent), 1892-1973.

Nationally recognized authority in the field of social reform during the first half of the 20th century. Much of Lynde's career was spent with the Associated Charities of Cleveland, 1923-33; then he became assistant director of the Family Welfare Association in New York. He returned to Cleveland in 1935 to head the Cleveland Welfare Federation (later the Federation for Community Planning) until his retirement in 1959.
