Cohen, Abram J., b. 1920.

A.J. Cohen, Jr. (b. 1920) lived in Savannah, Georgia. His parents, Abram J. and Mildred K. Cohen, bought the Sorrel-Weed house in 1941. The Sorrel-Weed house, named after its first two owners, was designed by Charles B. Cluskey in the Greek Revival Style and was built in 1840 for Francis Sorrel (1793-1870). It served both as a home for the Sorrel family and a salon where the affluent Savannah community could gather. The house was purchased by Henry Davis Weed in 1859. In 1862, Robert E. Lee stayed in the home during a stop in Savannah. A.J. Cohen, Sr., bought the Sorrel-Weed house in 1941; his son, A.J. Cohen, Jr., built a brick addition to the house and opened Lady Jane, a clothing store. The store closed in 1991, and the home was bought by Stephen Bader in 1996. Bader removed the brick addition soon after his purchase.
