New York (State). Education Dept. Board of Pharmacy.

The first statewide board of pharmacy was established in 1900, and had three branches: Eastern (New York, Kings, Queens, Nassau, Suffolk, Richmong, and Westchester counties), Western (Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Geneseo, Wyoming, Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua counties), and Middle Remaining counties). The law required that persons employed as apprentices in pharmacies or drug stores register with the board. In 1910, the board was reorganized, the regional branches eliminated, and appointment of members placed with the Board of Regents.

From the description of Registers of apprentices, [ca. 1901-1923]. (New York State Archives). WorldCat record id: 122574504
