United States. Army. Illinois Infantry Regiment, 94th (1862-1865)
The Ninety-Fourth Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment was mustered into service in the summer of 1862 entirely from McLean County, Ill. Its first commander was Col. William W. Orme, later succeeded by John McNulta. Next in rank was Lt. Col. Rankin Laughlin. The unit saw active service in Arkansas, the siege of Vicksburg, Miss., Louisiana, Texas, and the campaign leading to the capture of Mobile, Ala.
