Alexander Britton, son of Jonah and Martha (Locke) Britton, was born 24 August 1836 Highland County, Ohio, and he died 28 August 1899 Section District, Kansas. He married 31 October 1860 in Higland County, Ohio, to Clara Henrietta Ayers (1838-1909), daughter of Nathan and Martha (Bradley) Ayres.
