Experiments in Art and Technology (Organization)
E.A.T., an organization devoted to promoting the interaction of art and technology, was founded in 1966 by Billy Klüver, Robert Rauschenberg, Robert Whitman, and Fred Waldhauer after the landmark event "9 Evenings: Theatre and Engineering." Their intent was to continue the artist/engineer relationship forged during those performances, and to give artists access to materials and technologies that were starting to become commercially available in the mid-1960s.
