Clebsch, Betsy.
Yerba Buena Nursery was operated by Gerda Isenberg from the late 1940s until she sold it to Kathy Crane in 1995. Known for its fine selection of ferns and California native plants, it was also a significant training institution for horticultural students interested in the propagation and growing of native California plants, revegetation projects, and appropriate landscape design. In addition to paid staff, the nursery sponsored interns and volunteers, with emphasis on training, and in addition supported educational projects for the general population through its participation in the California Native Plant Society, California Horticultural Society, Western Horticultural Society, and the California Association of Nurserymen.
Co-compiler Judith Skinner, with contributions from some 38 people connected to the nursery.
