Reid, William A., 1846-1916.
William and Harvey Reid were cousins. William Allen Reid (1846-1916) was born in Skaneteles, New York. He was a corporal in Captain F.P. Lawrence's Company F of the 39th Wisconsin Volunteer Regiment during the Civil War. He was discharged from service on September 22, 1864 by reason of the expiration of his term of service. His discharge papers refer to his occupation as an engineer. He died in Racine, Wisconsin. Harvey Reid (1842-1910) was the son of William Harvey Reid and Margaret McLanney; he was born in Argyle County, New York. He enlisted in the 22nd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry on August 7, 1862, and was discharge on June 29, 1865. He was taken prisoner at Brentwood, Tennessee, on March 28, 1863, and was sent to Libby Prison. He was paroled from there on April 23, 1863. He participated in Sherman's Campaign on the March to Atlanta and also on the March to the Sea and Washington.
