Dannenberg, Edgar

Edgar Dannenberg, broker and investment company vice president, met playwright Abe Burrows (1910-1985) when they were order clerks at a Wall Street firm. Although Dannenberg chose a career in finance, the men remained friends and corresponded in later life. Mr. Dannenberg also corresponded with other literary and theatrical figures, including Joseph Heller, John Guare, Lillian Hellman, and Michael Kidd.

From the guide to the Edgar Dannenberg correspondence, 1952-1994, (The New York Public Library. Billy Rose Theatre Division.)
