Covered Timber Bridge Committee.
The Covered Timber Bridge Committee was formed in 1931 to investigate, document, and promote the preservation of Indiana's covered bridges. The Committee sent out surveys to county surveyors and sought donations of covered bridge photographs and information from the public. In the 1960s the Committee ended its work. In 1963 the Indiana Covered Bridge Society was organized and continued the work begun by the Committee.
