Bailey, Nellie Downing Scranton (Babe).
Nellie (Babe) Downing was educated in Morris, Illinois and came to Spokane around 1871 with her parents at the age of fifteen. In 1875, she married her father's partner, S. B. Scranton in Santa Ana, California. They lived there for a few years and then moved to the Blue Mountains in Washington. She later married E. R. Bailey.
