Newark Mechanics' Association (N.J.)
Organized in 1828 in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, for "the cultivation of the Sciences generally, with their application for the Arts;" collected scientific apparatuses and specimens, developed a library of appropriate books and journals, and promoted lectures on scientific topics.
