Cummings, Benjamin Franklin, 1821-1899.

Benjamin Franklin Cummings (1821-1899) served under Col. Chauncy West in gathering forces at the Green River, hoping to head off Johnston's Army advance into the Bear River area. He returned home to Ogden, Utah, and then headed out to Salmon River where he held counsel with the Bannock and Shoshone Indian tribes to assure friendship and peace. Cummings had two wives, Mary Jane and Catherine.
