Mudgett, Bruce D., 1884-
Bruce Mudgett was born in Jesup, Iowa, attended the University of Idaho Prepatory School, Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his Ph. D. He came to the University of Minnesota in 1919 as a professor of economics in the new School of Business, and specialized in insurance. In 1916, he married Mildred Dennett, who was the first exception to the University of Minnesota's rule against hiring wives of faculty members, when she was appointed to the School of Social Work, also in 1919.
