Blue, Ben, 1901-1975
Blue was born on Sept. 12, 1901 in Montreal, Canada; first performed in NY vaudeville in 1916; became dance instructor, dance school proprietor, and night club owner (Hollywood and San Francisco); in 1926 appeared on screen in short subjects for Warner Bros.; later worked with Hal Roach, Paramount, and MGM; pictures include The Arcadians (British), College rhythm, High wide and handsome, Cocoanut Grove, Panama Hattie, For me and my gal, Thousands cheer, Broadway rhythm, Two sisters from Boston, Easy to wed, and My wild Irish rose.
