Lutheran Council in the USA. Office of Communication and Interpretation. Media Relations Unit.

(For history of the Lutheran Council in the USA (LCUSA), see OCLC #38922091.) LCUSA's Division of Public Relations was established in 1967 at the Council's founding. Its Department of Films supervised the writing of scripts and the production, distribution, and exploitation of film presentations, as well as provided services to Lutheran Film Associates, an inter-Lutheran film production corporation formed in 1957. The Department of Films' name was changed in 1972 to the Film and Broadcast Unit. In 1973, the Division of Public Relations was renamed the Office of Communication and Interpretation. Under this Office, the Film and Broadcast Unit was again renamed the Media Relations Unit in 1980-1981. The LCUSA was terminated in 1987 at the founding of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
