Monserud, Sally, 1907-1991.
Sally Monserud was born in Iowa. She received a bachelor's degree in English from Augustana College (1929), and her master's degree from Washington State College at Pullman (1934). She came to Alaska to teach at Anchorage High School. She taught English at Anchorage Community College (1954-mid 1970s). She helped establish an instructional aid program to train native teachers. In 1972, a building on the Anchorage Community College Campus was named in her honor. The University of Alaska Anchorage awarded her an honorary Doctor of Humanities in 1972. She died in Anchorage in 1991.
