Sims, Ralph, 1916-
Ralph Sims was born in Donaldsonville, La. in 1916. He joined the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a tailgunner in a B-17 "Flying Fortress." Sims's wife, Eliza, worked as a secretary at Ethyl Corporation in Baton Rouge during the war. Returning home after his first tour, he continued to work at WJBO radio in Baton Rouge. Leaving radio, he worked for Crawford Corporation and Fidelity National Bank. He retired from the bank in 1982 and has remained active Louisiana Rotary Club.
