Arnold, Morris S.
Morris S. Arnold has served on the United States Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals since 1992. Prior to his present appointment, Judge Arnold served on the U.S. District Court, Western District of Arkansas from 1985-1992. Before 1985, he held several high-level academic positions with various universities, including Indiana University Law School, University of Pennsylvania, and Cambridge University. Arnold was born in Texarkana, Texas in 1941. He earned a bachelor's degree in elecrical engineering and LL. B. from the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville); in addition he received LL. M. and S.J.D. degrees from Harvard Law School (Cambridge, Massachusetts), specializing in legal history. Arkansas historians recognize Judge Arnold as the premiere expert on colonial Arkansas history. This collection of materials provided much of the information used in the publications written by Arnold.
