Knowles, Leander, 1837-1925.
Knowles was a Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois, farmer when he enlisted as a private in Company G, 18th Illinois Infantry on May 28, 1861. He was discharged on June 11, 1864 at the end of his term, and returned to Fairfield.
