Rathmines School, Dublin

Abraham George Haskins was born in 1856, and was still alive in January 1939. His father, Thomas Fitzmaurice Haskins (or Hoskins), born 1824, farmed the Coolkenno Hall estate in Wicklow (or Carlow), and married the daughter of Samuel Parke of Latouche's Bank, a Huguenot and Freeman of Dublin. AGH farmed Coolkenno Hall, and was a veterinarian, an organist, a hereditary Freeman of Dublin, P.M. of 228, and a member of the Royal Dublin Society. He sold Coolkenno in 1912, and retired to Dublin, where he experienced the 1916 Troubles. By 1932 he was living on independent means in Dun Laoghaire (S. of Dublin). In 1934 he moved to Strathmore, the home of A. Sutherland in Carrick Hill, Malahide (N. of Dublin) for nursing.
