Donahey family

Gertrude W. Donahey (1908-2004) was the first woman to be elected to a statewide executive office in the state of Ohio. She served as the Democratic National Committee Operation Support Chairwoman for Ohio from 1963-1969. She was also treasurer for the state of Ohio from 1971 to 1983. She has been honored for her achievements, including being one of Ohio's five outstanding women in 1976 by the Ohio Extension Homeworkers and is listed in Who's Who in American Politics; Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who of American Women. She lived in Hudson, Ohio circa 1942-1958. She resided on both Aurora and Streetsboro Streets.
