Overseas Vietnamese Buddhist Association.

Headquartered in Paris, the Overseas Vietnamese Buddhist Association had offices in various countries: Japan, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, India, France, Switzerland, West Germany, Great Britain, and the United States. It was founded in June 1963 by Vietnamese Buddhists living abroad as a means for them to keep in touch with one another, to maintain religious activities, and to have an overseas spokesman for the Buddhist community in Vietnam. The OVBA worked for peace in Vietnam and struggled against the repressive regime of President Diem. The U.S. office was in Chicago and later in Matamoras, Pa.
