Service Employees International Union. Local 199 (Iowa City, Iowa)
Local 199 worked to organize multiple bargaining units at Mercy Hospital in 2001. Hospital administrators hired anti-union consultants and managed to defeat SEIU in its first attempt to unionize nurses at the hospital.
