Malone, Ted, 1908-1989
Ted Malone was a popular radio broadcaster best known for his folksy storytelling and poetry readings. In 1929, he started the program "Between the Bookends" at KMBC in Kansas City. Some of his other radio programs included "Pilgrimage of Poetry" and "American Pilgrimage". He served as a correspondent for ABC during World War II, interviewing soldiers for human interest stories. Malone worked for all of the major networks during his approximately 50-year career.
