Buck, Albert H. (Albert Henry), 1842-1922

Biographical note: Albert H. Buck was an 1864 graduate of Yale University and earned a medical degree from Columbia University in 1867. He was associated for many years with the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, but after 1910 devoted himself principally to the study of medical history. His book, THE DAWN OF MODERN MEDICINE (1920) was a sequel to THE GROWTH OF MEDICINE FROM THE EARLIEST TIMES TO ABOUT 1800 (1917). Buck conducted research for the sequel in Lexington, Kentucky in 1918, using resources available at Transylvania University's library.
